In the U.S., we’re coming to the end of Memorial Day weekend. Not particularly that patriotic, but many Americans forget it’s veterans. So here’s the Psycho Bunny sketch of the week.

What else is new? Nothing much. Went to check out a local art opening in Brooklyn. Afterwards, visited the famous Junior’s, at it’s original location since 1950. Yes, it’s true. Junior’s does have the best cheesecake. Anyway, here’s the usual social media hints. Follow me on the following:

Royal Nuisance – Psycho Bunny Sketch of The Week

Over the weekend, a few events happened. One was The Misfits with the original line-up live at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

No, I didn’t have tickets. It’s okay. I met Jerry Only back in early 2001, when I was in Las Vegas for a week. Later years, got my Misfits collector doll signed over at Forbidden Planet in NYC. (Psycho Bunny was sold in Forbidden Planet back in 2004, in the self-published/indie section)

There was the L.I.C. Open Studios event which happened all weekend long, near where I grew up. Alas, didn’t make it to any of my friends’ exhibits in time.

The other event that happened, well you’re probably sick hearing about it. It was the British royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Normally I wouldn’t care about weddings. Certainly don’t give a toss about some Hollywood actress. However, the English side of me was just a tiny bit slightly curious. Not enough to get up 5am to watch the wedding live though. Just curious enough to attend a friend’s royal wedding party over at her fabulous salon, while sipping some pink blush champagne.

So if the worldwide coverage wasn’t enough to make you roll your eyes, there’s always the Psycho Bunny sketch of the week. Where Psycho Bunny uses any excuse to party.

Spider Lady May 2018

Last fall I brought my first Wacom drawing tablet. Now you think I would be creating illustrations with it. Instead, I’m continuing to use the old fashioned method. Sketching by hand.

Case in point. Check out my latest sketch.

Then here’s the same piece after a treatment of watercolor. The scan of the colored version threw me off. The flesh tones look quite different in person. However, I don’t mind the smoker effect from the scan.

Thinking about selling the original illustration, after I put it in a custom frame. Usually I sell only prints. That decision was made after I sold my original David Bowie/Aladdin Sane watercolor illustration. The Spider Lady item isn’t something I’m attached to. Despite her lovely spiderweb. Have to work on other illustration and sketches now. Will be back with another Psycho Bunny sketch of the week very soon.

Gnome In The Woods – Psycho Bunny Sketch of The Week (May 13 2018)

Completed this sketch last week but didn’t get a chance to post until today. Just as well, spring finally arrived over in my neck of the woods.

Other news? Saw The Melvins live over at Warsaw in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. They did not disappoint. Redd Kross member Steven McDonald joined the band a few years back. Haven’t thought about Redd Kross in years. Saw that band open for a reunited Dead Boys back in the late ’80s. Stiv Bators was so burnt out, Dead Boys barely made it through their set. Not interested in the latest Dead Boys reincarnation. Besides. Have some current items to work on. My three month ‘vacation’ is over. Eventually I’ll fix my website.
