Here’s the Psycho Bunny sketch of the week. Drawn while listening to the album Machine Gun Etiquette by the UK band The Damned. (Although The Damned did have a Goth period during their long career.)

The Psycho Bunny sketch of the week for Monday, April 15th, 2018. Based on the comic written and drawn by Michele Witchipoo on her own imprint, WitchesBrewPress.

Over the weekend, a few approached me inquiring if I was ever going to work on another Psycho Bunny comic. It even came up on Sunday while having dinner with a friend at my new favorite eatery, Onderdonk and Sons because they make killer burgers. The burgers come in both vegetarian and meat varieties, but getting back to Psycho Bunny. Will there be another issue? That’s a good question. Good news is yes, I do have a few stories in the works, so please be patient. In the meantime, I am available for commissions, so don’t be shy.

As some await for the next issue with baited breath (an exaggeration), there all these lovely social media account you can check out for the latest updates.

On Facebook there’s pages for Psycho Bunny and for Michele Witchipoo – WitchesBrewPress. On Twitter there’s my own account, and one for Psycho Bunny. World Ov Witchipoo is my Tumblr one. On Instagram there’s WitchipooArt. Got some cool stuff on RedBubble, so buy my work. That way I can settle my overpriced internet bill. Until I sign up for a cheaper company that won’t rip me off. Until next time ladies and germs.

Sunday March 11th, 2018. After attending the Art On Paper fair during the last day of NY Art Week, my friend had an extra ticket for a concert. It was The Little Mermen, Galactic Empire and the headliners, Mac Sabbath, happening over at Brooklyn Bazaar.

The concert was amazing. Here’s some photos of the two opening bands.

Then of course, here’s two badly taken photos of Mac Sabbath before my cellphone ran out of battery juice.

So now I’m a Mac Sabbath fan for life. Quite frankly, I thought Mac Sabbath was better live than Black Sabbath themselves. When I saw Black Sabbath in concert in 2001 on the Ozzfest line-up, I wasn’t impressed. Mac Sabbath on the other hand was brilliant. If Metal parodies about fast food is your thing.

Now I have classic Sabbath songs stuck in my head. Only like the very early stuff right up until Ozzy left and Dio replaced him. In turn, this influenced the Psycho Bunny sketch of the week.

So last night the Oscars was broadcast last night on American TV.

When I was a child, the Oscars was everything. Loved the pomp and circumstance, the red carpet gowns, the suspense, the thrill of winning an award, etc. Got so wrapped up in the Hollywood fantasy. It was a world me and you could never touch, but despite this, it symbolized that dreams do come true.

Now?

I couldn’t care less.

Perhaps it’s due to the declining quality of American mainstream releases. Don’t get me wrong. I still love the cinema. The ritual of going to the actual theater still is more appealing than catching a film a year later on Netflix. Unfortunately the cons are outweighing the pros. Ticket prices in NYC are so expensive. My latest preference is the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn. If you get up at the crack of dawn, you can catch an early matinee in Times Square. With cheap matinee tickets comes the risk bringing home bed bugs. No thank you.

There’s a reason why people “Netflix and chill.”

As I’ve become much more selective in where I purchase my film tickets, something else happened to me recently. On Facebook I had posted an article relating to #metoo. Somehow a certain film director’s mother who just happened to be on my Facebook friend list became furious that I had re-posted the article. She blasted me online. A case of shooting the messenger rather than the source. When she asked me who was I, my response was something like ‘I don’t know – you were the one who had sent me the friends request a few months ago…you should know.’ Thus I was promptly blocked.

Shrugs.

So after a few laughs, we looked up her name on IMDb. Turns out she was the mother of a famous film director. More incredibly, I was a fan of that particular director. Now every time I come across one of his films, I’m going to think about that exchange with his mom. ‘Tis a small world after all. That was some straight up TMZ shit right there.

*sigh*

Anyway. Here’s the Psycho Bunny sketch of The Week.

Trying to get back on track once again with these weekly sketches. As you probably already know, in the U.S. they have something called the Super Bowl. This past Sunday was Super Bowl number 52.

I’ve always thought sports and politics have a lot in common. For starters, it’s all just a bunch of bull****. Both incorporate the divide and conquer mentality. Worse of all, both athletics and politicians are way overpaid.

However. Still did my annual tradition of going over to the Gottscheer Hall for their Super Bowl festivities. An Irish expat brought me a lot of Krumbacher beer. Then witnessed a beautiful site of everyone booing the Scientology commercial. The best part – The Patriots lost.

So while my heart isn’t exactly bleeding for Tom Brady, I present you with another belated Psycho Bunny sketch of the week.
